Shinedown, Brixton Academy, London
We shouldn’t have attended this one. This show was announced after the Godsmack show so were unable to go. Instead we had opted to head to Southampton to see Shinedown and Starset. Unfortunately that sold out as we put off buying tickets. Then by chance the Godsmack show was cancelled, trouble with that was Shinedown at Brixton was also sold out… Via Starset we managed to get on the setlist so all seemed fine. Come the day of the show however all has changed and we are no longer on the guest list.
Luckily I managed to find a couple of tickets on Twickets and Ticket Master Verified (Their buyback site). Problem with this was 1 was standing, while the other was a seating ticket. With the aid of Kitty who sat with Simon we ended up doing the switch-a-roo so Kristina and I can sit together.
I’d watched Press To Meco from the stalls I from what I saw, I thought they were decent enough openers, although the ear plugs did have to go in as it was super loud down there.
Starset had a solid set, joined by a strings section. It was the first time I’d seen them and I’ll most likely check them out again in the future.
Shinedown had a really decent lightshow, complete with lasers. A thoroughly enjoyable set from them.
Line up: Press To Meco, Shinedown, Starset
